Material Laboratory Analysis
-
We provide laboratory testing of soil material samples to support accurate geotechnical assessment and design. This includes Foundation Indicator and CBR testing, which are essential for understanding the engineering properties and performance of materials used and found on site.
We collect representative samples during our site investigations and submit them to accredited laboratories for testing. Once testing is complete, we analyse and interpret the results to provide clear, practical insight relevant to your project.
Foundation Indicator testing helps assess the suitability of soils for supporting foundations, including the presence of active clays and their potential for shrinkage and swelling. These factors are critical, as volume changes in clay soils can lead to ground movement and structural damage if not properly accounted for.
CBR testing is used to evaluate the strength of subgrade and base materials, particularly for surface beds, pavements, and access routes, ensuring that materials can adequately support applied loads.
By combining accurate testing with professional interpretation, we provide reliable data that supports informed decision-making during design and construction. This approach reduces uncertainty, improves construction quality, and helps prevent costly failures, delays, or rework, while giving all project stakeholders confidence that materials are fit for purpose.
